Top 5 favorite salad dressings

Even the most simple salad you can make much tastier if you take an interesting sauce. Offer my favorite options with recipes.

Greek dressing

A classic that is perfect not only for the Greek salad. This option I like for its versatility.

What: salad with fresh or grilled vegetables, salad leaves with a mild taste, as a marinade for chicken, fish or meat.


  • 1/2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp sweet French mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp wine or Apple vinegar
  • Good whisper of dried oregano and Basil
  • Salt
  • All mix, allow to stand 10-15 minutes. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in a closed jar.

The oil in the refrigerator to solidify, and vinegar to separate. Do not worry, just get the dressing in advance and mix when the oil will again become liquid.

Honey mustard dressing

Cool sauce is also quite versatile. Moderately spicy, slightly sweet — I like it.

What: vegetable salads with herbs (arugula, iceberg, radicchio), as a marinade and a sauce for baking chicken or fish.


  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp liquid honey
  • 2 tsp mustard (I love grain)
  • 1 tsp Apple cider or wine
  • Salt

Can be stored up to two days in the refrigerator.

Citrus dressing

Cool option when regular salad tired. Oil is used quite a bit, so go out and even dietine.

What: fresh vegetables with lots of greens, especially good with ruccellai salads with shrimp


  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/2 tsp. grated peel
  • 2 tbsp wine or Apple vinegar
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil

You can use immediately, and store in the refrigerator up to 3 days.

Garlic ranch

Everywhere a gas station doing with the mayonnaise, and I, as usual, “facilitate” it.

What: salads with tomatoes and cucumbers, cabbage soup, as a sauce for vegetable sticks, baked potato and the carrot slices.


  • 1/2 C yogurt
  • 2 tbsp low fat sour cream or thick yoghurt
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Dried herbs and salt to taste

Can not be stored, but the flavor of garlic opened, allow to steep 10-15 minutes.

1000 Islands

The original by itself, the sauce is quite oily, so I suggest the light version.

What: vegetable salads without leaves (because the filling will be difficult to stir), salads with chicken breast or Turkey, eggs, rye crackers.


  • 100 ml sour cream 10% or thick Greek yogurt with a neutral taste
  • 2 tbsp good ketchup
  • 2 canned gherkin
  • 1/2 small head of finely chopped onion
  • Salt, black pepper

A gas station it is advisable to eat immediately, and not stored even in the refrigerator.
