Beautiful new Chelsea Piers location! The cafe and remote working area is grand and library like, with high ceilings and wooden furniture. Downstairs, the locker rooms are grand and spacious, with towels and amenities at every corner. Saw the sauna, steam room, and ice baths. Another floor down, you’re met with a double height turf area for stretching and functional training. Across are multiple full length cable machines. On the same floor are the free weights, with multiple sets and several benches. The area felt spacious even when multiple benches were in use. Around the free weight area are multiple squat racks that are nicely spaced out. There’s also dedicated ab areas with slant boards which is nice - often times they’re awkwardly placed with the free weights in gyms. The cardio and weight cable machines are on the 2nd floor. Cardio machines are all the latest models with wide touch screens and wireless phone charging. The weight cable machines are all new but in a corner and that area probably has the least attention to detail, but maybe could be livened up in the future. My favorite area was the turf on the 2nd floor. The views are amazing and I found myself less on my phone between sets and instead watching the yellow cabs and hustle bustle of the city below. There’s several bench boxes in this area, which are adjustable and have dumbbell sets up to 30 lb neatly stored on the sides. Overall, it stands up strong with the original Chelsea location in terms of size, quantity of equipment, and overall feel good energy inside. It’s high end with luxurious details but still feels like a gym, which is a balance not every luxury gym in NY manages to pull off. Overall, it lives up to the Chelsea Piers name and is well worth the membership!

Aug 03, 2024 · Aaron BartholomewSo much space for personal workouts/stretching. Equipment is brand new, top of the line and well maintained. Locker rooms are clean and spacious. Amenities (cold plunge, sauna, steam, private meeting rooms) make it an amazing place to spend hours. I like all the classes I’ve tried (strength, yoga, cycling) - very knowledgeable instructors who switch up their class flows. Zero complaints and all the praise!!
Jan 06, 2025 · Rebecca BrownNice gym if you just want to take classes and are willing to pay extra for some of them. However, the amount of cable machines is very limited and it's extremely annoying having to waut when you pay this much. Also, in the picture, for the close grip cross cable there is only one in the entire gym and if someone is using as a single cable, there are none. Also they lock you in for a year, if it was a really good gym, that wouldn't be neccessary.
Mar 09, 2025 · Lyn FNice facility, staff is really nice but it didn’t take long for things to break. Cold plunges has been broken for over a week, the infrared sauna only has half the heaters working and gets nowhere near the advertised temp, water fountains broken, soap dispensers broken - it’s a disaster. Workout floor areas get trashed very fast and while I understand much of this comes down to the members in the space respecting everything, it doesn’t seem to sync across the property or doing anything to enforce some sense of culture. Areas that should be “quiet” are often loud treated like their personal living room. The equipment offerings are solid. Essentially every piece of equipment you would request from a facility with multiple yoga studios, cycling studio, and Pilates (extra $). With this gym being new and slower because of the summer, I anticipate more issues to occur and little improvement on fixing the key amenities based on the conversations I’ve had with the members of the staff who have little to no answers. Shout out to the cleaning crew who work their tails off.
Aug 21, 2024 · Matthew RoulanThis place used to be a solid gym but they're way over capacity now. DO NOT SIGN UP! You'll regret it when you're fighting over machines, packed into the sauna like a sardine, or waiting in a 30 minute shower line. When I first joined in September 2024, I was told they were at 80% capacity. They've easily doubled the enrollment in the last 5 months and I continue to see big groups touring the gym every time I go. In short, if you sign up here, get used to going home sweaty and upset. Oh - and the café is never open.
