Despite the gym's attractive appearance, the equipment is in poor condition, with visible wear and cleanliness issues. I nearly experienced a fall on the treadmill. The classes were average. My primary concern stems from the front desk staff's behavior. The lack of welcome and the rudeness were compounded by overhearing extremely inappropriate conversations. As a biracial woman, I was shocked and disturbed by the discriminatory comments made by the staff member, who also identified herself as the manager. These comments targeted Black men and Latina women and included negative remarks about her coworkers. This behavior is unacceptable and creates a hostile environment. I strongly urge Chelsea Piers to address the equipment's condition and implement comprehensive hospitality and diversity training, or consider replacing the staff and equipment entirely.

Mar 07, 2025 · Nova LenoxI've had memberships at a number of "luxury" gyms in both California and New York. CPF takes the cake. Not only does it have all the amenities, classes, and services you could want, but the staff and management go above and beyond to make every member feel like they're part of the Chelsea Piers community. An unpretentious yet elite fitness facility.
Jan 29, 2025 · Kestine ThieleHonestly, soooo many things wrong with this gym. Facilities are pretty nice but they fall short on service. Reallyyyyy shitty staff. Classes aren't that great. Just not worth $230. You need to be in that gym every day to make that price make sense. But it definitely gets crowded, people never clean the equipment after themselves, it's SO hard to book a massage, really hard to get out of such an expensive membership, they increase the price by like $20/year...
Jan 03, 2025 · Lydia DrakefordGood facilities. However, giving it 1 star for its AWFUL front desk staff. They’re extremely rude, unfriendly, hostile, and are always bothered when I ask questions about the gym’s facilities + always replying with attitude. For the steep price of $240 members pay monthly, you’d expect CPF to hire competent staff with friendly demeanors that will make members feel welcome. A total shame and a waste.
Dec 05, 2024 · C TLuxury gym? Run! This place is getting worse. Management don’t know what they’re doing. They love your money. Guest pass is $60 per person. Lack of machines. Too many people during busy hour and the gym is now super cramped with all the machines in one place downstairs ( looking like Planet Fitness/Blink). Super ugly layout, At this point I want to cancel my membership. If you are paying $230 might just go to Equinox instead. Pro: Friendly Staff
