The location is fine! Crowded but it’s New York City and I go at a busy time, so that’s not a problem. My bigger complaint is that it feels like it feels poorly maintained in a couple ways. In the year I’ve gone here, for example, a paper towel dispenser in the men’s locker room has never worked. The sauna is frequently broken (even when it is operational, some of the planks are rotting), as well as one of the urinals in the men’s locker room. The locker room could be cleaner, but I also understand it’s hard given the high volume of people moving through. Ultimately, good place to workout, but the poor maintenance unsettles me given that you pay extra to use this location in particular given that it’s a “signature location.”

Feb 13, 2025 · Dyllan MoranApparently, people are not allowed to work out without a shirt. I had surgery and can barely stand having a shirt on. Nor was the manager there to help me, and there was no one at the counter for check in. They have an entire sauna, so it seemed perfectly reasonable, as in any other gym, to have your shirt off, especially when you have to pay over $100 monthly. Nor did they mention this during in-person enrollment. Extremely disappointed and will be waiting for my full refund.
Jan 07, 2025 · Alex DenholtzI’ve been a member of crunch for years now, this is by far my favorite location. The people who work here are awesome, so friendly and the place is kept clean. They’ve got a pretty spacious functional fitness area for city standards. & the price is way more affordable than the other gyms in the area while still offering things like sauna, shower products & towels.
Nov 16, 2024 · LizIt's fine. As other reviews have stated, some shady stuff goes on where they say they sent a letter notifying you of increases in fees but that's not the case. There are sometimes issues with the equipment sticking or not being maintained well (rope attachments super frayed, bathrooms without paper towels, lots of hair and dust in the class rooms), and front desk is very hit or miss. There was a period of time where they clearly paid for fake reviews to boost their score on Google. Good thing is it's a convenient location and they have some great teachers. Never have seen an employee rerack anything and the trainers (not all) will often inconvenience other members (standing in the way, doing a circuit with their customer on 1 of 2 bench press stations for half an hour, using a bench to hold their phone and water) or just demonstrate bad gym etiquette. Lately there's been chalk all over the weights area and several areas of the floor compress down and are a tripping hazard. All in all, it's average, but priced high for the experience. If they brought in a good manager I think it would do wonders for this place.
Dec 14, 2024 · Trevor SThis location has gone down hill since I first started going pre-pandemic. I rejoined 2 months ago and I cancelled my membership abruptly last week because it’s so crowded even at 6:30/7am that you almost always need to work in with other members. They should have capped memberships by now. I also often found machines not in good working condition but they are typically fixed within the week. Place is also not as clean and maintained as it once was. P.S. charging last month’s membership is such a scam. Now I’m paying for 2 months I won’t end up using and I can’t transfer it to a friend or family member.
