I was a vendor at the recent “Close Friends Pop Up Shop” which is ran by some great like minded college educated folks. I am very upset that the review left about our event by the owner of this venue was negative. Describing us as “unruly” and “not a good crowd of people”. To start we weren’t let into the building until 4:30 when we reserved the venue from 4pm to 8pm. So from 4 to 4:30 we were outside with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise and equipment. That was the start of the unprofessionalism. Then we were harassed and hounded to shut down 30 minutes before our event time was up. Whoever was in charge of the space was forcing people out of the door, demanded the DJ to stop playing music, walked up to each vendor as they were making sales and told them to pack it up. It didn’t feel good and was very unwelcoming. As a black owned event in a white owned venue it seems racially motivated to call us “a bad crowd of people” and recommend no one books with us again when we were as professional as professional gets. The venue is poorly ran, there were yoga mats and weights all over when we walked in, so we had to do their cleaning for them. No soap in the bathrooms. The list goes on, I’ve spent enough energy complaining about this place. We will not return and I suggest you don’t book.

Jun 02, 2022 · Nyles HightowerI have had an abolutely terrible experience with this company. It has felt like a bait and switch ever since my event 8 weeks ago. Their contracted requested a $500 deposit for the event, which is not a problem, HOWEVER, they have yet to return my money. I have emailed 4 different email addresses multiple times and NO ONE has been able to tell me by when I will receive my deposit. The phone number given to me is magically disconnected as well. While the event space is beautiful, I could never have an event here again due to this.
Oct 02, 2023 · Jolene HernandezI was a vendor for a very cool black owned pop up shop this past weekend. The vibes were great, a lot of people walked in from the street and purchased from the brands. However, the owner was over 20 minutes late to arrive to allow us to set up which was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. We were harassed throughout the event, we were demanded to break down our displays and clean up 25 minutes before the event was over even though HE was late to arrive to unlock the building. He demanded the music be cut off 15 minutes before the event ended and made us all look BAD. We had to rush people out which resulted in a lot of people waiting for their Ubers in front of the building. Would not recommend booking this venue ever again. Racist, late, unprofessional, and downright RUDE.
Jun 02, 2022 · Dr. BurlyThe host is completely unruly and unprofessional 👎🏾 I would highly recommend that nobody does business with them. I Traveled all the way from Maryland in support of a friend and the host was just nerve rattling. I have seen bad hosting before but never like this ever!!!! The pop up itself was a great experience, no unruly vendors and the people that came to shop were fun and engaging and had a great time! I would travel from the pop up again but never ever coming back to that location!!
Jun 02, 2022 · Andrew BankheadCame to an event here over memorial day weekend which had an amazing turn out. However, it was clear that the owner & whomever they left in charge didn’t want us there & was blatantly racist. Calling black professionals “unruly” & “not a good crowd of people” is extremely disrespectful. The event space was hot, there was no air conditioning. On top of that the bathrooms were filthy & it seemed selective people were able to use them. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend. They don’t know how to treat & speak to people.
