Equinox East 54th Street

I've been a member at this location from 2018-2024 (with a break during covid). I just moved to a new state and sent an email on 7/27 asking to cancel my membership, after not getting a reply for two days I called the club and asked to cancel my membership because I did not want to be charged for August, they informed me that the next month is charged on the 23rd of the month prior, I asked if they could refund me since I asked to cancel on 7/27 and I will not be using the club at all in August and they refused. This seems like a pretty bad policy and a terrible way to treat someone who has been a member for so long. I was thinking of joining an Equinox location in my new area, but after this experience I never will again. I hope the few hundred dollars they got from me was worth losing a member for life. I'll be joining Lifetime instead, which is a better quality gym for a better price. Would recommend you check them out before considering a membership here.

I love this Equinox on 54tg street! One of the reasons is the super cool and professional instructor - Steve Feinberg who train Speedball and Shadow do classes which are great! The staff is great and very helping. The whole place is always clean and fresh - showers included! You can get a worm or cold towel if you'd like. There's a huge group fitness classes selection and the instructors are highly qualified. Membership is required.

Reading the other reviews about friendliness are a tad surprising. Ive been coming to his location for over two years and they never greet you or say hello. They often don’t even look up to acknowledge you or too busy chatting. Even if you say hello to them. What kind of lifestyle hospitality brand allows that? Ive even been asked specifically by management how this location can make member experiences better and that was one example I provided. It sets the tone for every member walking through the door. I don't pay the prices to be treated like I’m not good enough to be apart of the gym. It’s gotten to the point I will go out of my at to go to a different location even though this one is most convenient.

I’ve been coming to this equinox for 6 years. All of the staff and the regular guests are super friendly, providing a great setting to enjoy your workout. Gym Memberships have increased all over the city and this location gets fairly busy during prime hours. The property is maintained very well. You’ll find the space very clean and orderly. The location is super convenient as the area is mostly residential.

Was a bit weary about hitting this Equinox given the reviews. But after a couple visits, not sure what they were referring to Steam room in men’s locker room works great. Clean too Group classes have been solid so far, space is fitted out proper Staff have all been very friendly too It’s not the biggest Equinox but also not the smallest. Gets the job done and then some. Great strength area and also yoga studio upstairs Thankful it’s legit since it’s the closest one to me - will be going back nearly daily
